Shuhong Ye, Ph.D., professor, currently serves her tenure as a doctoral supervisor at the College of Food Science and Technology, Dalian Polytechnic University. In 2013, she was awarded an excellent expert sponsored by Dalian government. In 2009, she was elected to the Talent Project of Liaoning Province. She was awarded an excellent scientist and technician for her virtue of researching and teaching in 2014.

    Dr. Ye earned her BS and MS degrees in Food Technology and in Fermentation Technology from Dalian Polytechnic University and her Ph.D. degree in Environment Science from Dalian Maritime University in 2006. She previously held a tenure-postdoctoral position at State Key Laboratory of Bioreactor Engineering, East China University of Science and Technology from 2007 to 2010. From 2014 to 2015, she studied as a visiting scholar at Department of Human Nutrition and Food Science, California State Polytechnic University.

    Research interests are on development and utilization of microbial edible resources and forest resources with an emphasis on functional fermented foods, in particular plant enzymes. Recent work has been focused on the interactions between anti-microbial and anti-oxidative activities and induced resistance of bioactive substances from endophytes from trees and garden stuff, including polysaccharides, flavonoids, protein and lipopeptide, and plant enzymes using Chinese wolfberry, fruits and brown rice.
