Yu-mei Sun, professor, Ph.D. graduated from Dalian University of Technology in September of 2002, worked on microbial oil research as a senior visiting scholar at Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics in Chinese Academy of sciences from 2004 to 2005, researched on gene recombination on xylanase of marine microbe as a visiting scholar at Lund University in Sweden from 2005 to 2006.
The main research interests focus on the microbial fermentation by metabolic control and the screening and application of functional microbes. The current main teaching courses are “principle of fermentation technology” and “the technology of wine making” for senior undergraduate students and “microbial physiology” for graduate students. Supervised forty graduate students have graduated.
About 80 academic papers have been published in Process Biochemistry, Biosci. Biotechnol. Biochem., Journal of Hazardous Material, Journal of Application and Environmental Science and so on, some of them were indexed by SCI, EI and ISTP. Five academic works have been published by editing and participating. Ten invention patents have been authorized.
