Personal introduction

Prof. Lin Hai, Master’s supervisor, was born in November 1968. He received his Ph.D. degree in physics from the Changchun Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in July 1999, andhis post-doctoral works were carried out at City University of Hong Kong in 2001 and University of Arizona in 2003, respectively. Moreover, he went to the Kyoto University of Japan in 2006 as a visiting professor. Now, he is a professor at the School of Textile and Material Engineering, Dalian Polytechnic University, a member of Special Glass Branch and Sol-gel Branch of Chinese Silicate Society.

Research (field) direction

1.      Main research interests: rare earth doped functional materials, optical fiber and waveguide amplifier, color lighting and display materials, visible medical optical waveguide materials and devices, rare earth doped functional microfiber materials.

2.      Recruiting master's first level discipline: Materials Science and Engineering.

3.      Currently undertaking main course: Optoelectronic Materials.

4.      Guidance of graduate student: 37 graduated students, 10 in progress.

5.      Undertaking scientific research projects: hosts and participates in a number of research projects at national, provincial and municipal levels.

(1)   National Natural Science Foundation Project of China: Preparation and fluorescent specificity of waveguide-type white up-conversion super-fluorescence light sources for minimally invasive medical application (61275057), (750 k).

(2)   Natural Science Foundation Project of Liaoning Province: Fiber optic design and optical gain characteristics of Pr3+-doped oxide glasses for ultra-wideband optical communication amplification (201202011), (50 k).

Representative books and papers

With the concerted efforts of domestic and overseas universities, with Dalian Polytechnic University as the first unit, over 100 SCI papers have been published in internationally renowned academic journals, such as Appl. Phys. Lett., Opt. Express,Opt. Lett., and so on.Papers are cited by domestic and overseas colleagues for nearly a thousand times.

Scientific research and teaching achievements (awards, patents, etc.)

Won the first prize and second  prize of Liaoning Province Natural Science Academic AchievementSupervising graduates received excellent master's degree thesis in Liaoning Province in 2013, 2014 and 2015 for three consecutive years. Receiving two invention patents.
